It is with regret we write to inform you that Sunnybrae Bible Camp will not be operating camp this summer, upon the decision of our Board, due to the restrictions required by our Provincial Health Authority to keep us all healthy and safe during this current COVID-19 pandemic. While our team is heartbroken and already missing the fun and excitement our campers bring, we are diligently working to ensure SBC is prepared to provide an awesome time for our guests in the next camping season.
We are sure you will have many questions for us, and we look forward to hearing from you and answering those as we are able.
Below we hope to provide answers to the more obvious and pressing questions:
Will I receive a full refund? Yes. Please be patient as we process hundreds of refunds, and thank you for your patience in communicating with the camp as we do our best with reduced office hours.
Can I leave my camp fees for next summer? Unfortunately, no. There are many logistical and administrative reasons for this decision – please feel free to contact us for more details. Thank you for your understanding.
What is happening at SBC? We host Millar College of the Bible during the Fall and Winter months, school groups and church retreats through the Spring, and of course kids and family camps in the Summer. With no anticipated Spring and Summer revenue, we have had to lay off most of the staff, and the facility will remain closed until government mandates permit otherwise. However, there is still a lot of activity here as volunteers continue to care for the property, working hard to make it better than ever!
What can I do to still be a part of camp? Donors and patrons have already done so much. SBC is less a product of good business and more so a product of generosity. People give because they believe in the work that we do, and we need your help.
We will be refunding more than $150, 000 this week. Many need those resources in these difficult times. Others may choose to decline the refund to help us through our own financial difficulty – if this is you, you can reply directly to this email and we would be pleased to credit your camp fee payment as a donation, and will issue you a charitable tax receipt in the new year.
If you would like to give above and beyond your camp fees, or have already received your refund, you can donate in any of the following ways:
By Phone to 250.835.4596, Tuesdays or Wednesdays between 8 am and 12 pm
If you have any questions, concerns, or would like to discuss anything related to camp, giving, or the decision regarding summer, please do not hesitate to contact myself (Tim).
