With the conditions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic ever changing, we will be keeping this page up to date on the protocols we are planning on implementing, to keep our staff and campers healthy and safe. Our COVID Safety Plan will be in keeping with BC's current Public Health Orders.
See below for more details.
One policy change to note, prior to registration, is our Refund Policy (updated April 23, 2021):
Your deposit secures your registration and is non-refundable, to cover our Administration fees. The balance of camp fees are due in the 24 hours prior to arrival via a contactless payment method - further details will be sent by email.
Refunds for camp fees are not made for any campers unable to attend or leaving early for any reason, including health. Cigarettes, alcohol and illicit drugs are prohibited at camp. Sunnybrae Bible Camp reserves the right to dismiss a camper who appears to have rejected the reasonable control of the camp. Under such circumstances, there will be no refund of camp fees.
The following REFUND POLICY is still applicable for all 2021 registrations made between Feb 1. and April 23.
"Due to the uncertainty of the pandemic, full refunds will be offered for all cancellations relating to COVID-19. Deposits are still required to confirm commitment and reserve a spot. If you would like to consider donating your funds to the camp, we are able to issue you a charitable tax receipt."
Summer Camp Protocols:
We know that Summer Camp will look different than in previous years. We will adjust our camp and program format to meet the most current Provincial Health Orders.
Not yet knowing what the pandemic will look like by the camping season, a clear outline of our protocols will be communicated closer to that time. Registered campers will be notified by email.
If current PHO carry forward into the summer, the wearing of masks would be required in all public buildings on property. They would not be required in your private accommodation, or while outside.
If current PHO carry forward into the summer, patrons would be required to maintain a physical distance of 2 m (6 ft) from patrons outside of their cohort (for Day Camps) or household (for Family Camps).
Frequently touched surfaces will be disinfected multiple times a day, hand sanitization stations will be set up in common areas, and activity equipment will be disinfected between each user. Hand washing and sanitizing will be required before each meal. There will be support provided throughout the day for campers, by our staff, to ensure and maintain proper sanitization.
Health and Wellness:
If any camper, caregiver, or member of your family is exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 DO NOT send them to Sunnybrae Bible Camp. Please inform SBC by phone (250.835.4596) as soon as possible to let us know that they will not be attending. In the event of any potential COVID-19 exposure, all parents will be informed immediately. If any camper displays any new or unexplained symptoms of COVID-19, they will be immediately placed in our quarantine room while they wait for their caregiver to come pick them up.
