Code of Conduct

Below is a list of problem areas which are in violation of expectations for SBC staff and SALT campers, along with a list of potential consequences for violations. Check marks indicate applicable consequences for the given problem area.

The Camp Administration reserves the right to dismiss any staff member without warning who, in their opinion, compromises the physical or emotional safety of any person at Camp, or who is an immediate hazard to the safety of themselves or others. If, in the opinion of the Camp Administration, a staff member at any time is so disruptive or irresponsible as to jeopardize the welfare of any campers, the safe operation of the Camp or the Camp reputation, that person shall be dismissed immediately.

Below is a list of problem areas which are in violation of expectations for SBC staff and SALT's, along with a list of potential consequences for violations.

CURFEW - Breaking curfew means being out of assigned staff quarters after the designated curfew time without express permission of the Director or Assistant Director.

HARASSMENT - Repeated comments or conduct that is known or ought to be known as unwelcome (including racial discrimination and slurs).

ASSAULT - Physical assault or aggression causing bodily harm, or the serious threat of physical aggression with the intent to cause harm.

PROFANITY - Swearing, or the use of obscene or foul language.

WEAPONS - Possession, use of, or threat to use a weapon (including but not limited to a firearm, knife, or bow).

SEXUAL MISCONDUCT - Engaging in sexual activity with a camper or staff member, consensual or not (including but not limited to kissing, oral sex, and penetration).

ALCOHOL - Consumption or possession of alcohol on Camp property or while in the Camp's charge.

ILLEGAL DRUGS - Use or possession of illegal drugs and/or paraphernalia on Camp property or while in the Camp's charge.

SMOKING/VAPING - Use of cigarettes, vaporizers or tobacco products while in the Camp's charge.
